Teachers’ salaries will increase next September by an average of 5.5% compared to 2022. This is a document from the Ministry of National Education, which franceinfo was able to consult on Wednesday April 26. During his presidential campaign between the two rounds, Emmanuel Macron had nevertheless promised to increase all teachers by 10%. The Head of State then mentioned 10% on average compared to 2020, integrating elements already in application such as the attractiveness bonus and the thawing of the index point.

In recent weeks, the Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye had taken up this figure of 10% increase, taking into account the additional missions that teachers will be able to carry out, on a voluntary basis, in exchange for bonuses. This is included in the framework of the “pact” proposed by the government to teachers and that Emmanuel Macron had announced on April 20 during a trip to a college in Hérault.

In addition, still in the document of the ministry, the increases in remuneration are detailed. From 15 years in the business, it will be a 4% increase. For career purposes, it will be 3%, or less. This is less than inflation, which reached 5.7% in March over one year.

This Wednesday, Élisabeth Borne presents the government’s roadmap for the next 100 days, which will specify in particular the increases in teachers’ salaries.
