INFO FRANCEINFO. Health Minister François Braun in Ukraine next Friday and Saturday

The Minister of Health, François Braun, will be in Ukraine on Friday April 14 and Saturday April 15 to support the Ukrainian people, according to information from franceinfo.

François Braun’s protocol program will be loaded: alongside his Ukrainian counterpart, the minister will notably inaugurate in Lviv, in the west of the country, a medical center specializing in reconstructive surgery, particularly valuable for war disabled. François Braun will also sign a bilateral cooperation agreement for the reconstruction of health in Ukraine thanks to European funds.

As a doctor, François Braun has already intervened after an earthquake in Iran or during the war in Bosnia. And as a minister, he participates in many European or international summits. With his colleagues in the Armed Forces or Foreign Affairs, he coordinates the medical support that France provides to Ukrainians. France has already sent, for example, 52 ambulances, 27 respirators, oxygen generators or tens of tons of medicine.

Operation “Stork”

The health effort is also deployed on French soil with about fifteen medical evacuations to France of soldiers or children treated on our territory. This is Operation Cigogne: children with cancer are welcomed and treated in France with their carers. According to the hospitals of Paris, about fifty children have been treated in this way in one year. In addition, around forty soldiers injured in combat are cared for in civilian or military hospitals.
