The city of Le Havre filed a complaint on Tuesday after receiving a death threat letter to the mayor and former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, franceinfo learned on Wednesday March 29 from the town hall of Le Havre. Édouard Philippe, meanwhile, will also file a complaint in the early afternoon.

According to information from franceinfo, the courier service of the town hall of Le Havre received Tuesday at noon, a letter intended for Édouard Philippe, including the inscription “God is great”. The letter contained whitish powder. A perimeter was quickly established and readings ruled out the hypothesis of possible toxicity.

The four employees who had contact with the mail have been examined and show no significant clinical signs. The envelope was placed in hermetic packaging. Its analysis is in progress. According to the town hall of Le Havre, there is no indication that this threat is linked to the mobilization against the pension reform.
