France Bleu Paris learned this Saturday from several concordant sources that Leonardo will no longer be sporting director of PSG in the hours or days to come. An announcement that comes just a few hours after that of Kylian Mbappé to continue at PSG until 2025.
The former Brazilian international footballer has held the position of sports director of PSG since June 14, 2019. He had played in the team between 1996 and 1997. In 2011 he was appointed sports director of PSG before resigning in 2013 and then returning in 2019.
Among Leonardo’s recent stunts was, of course, the signing of superstar Messi last summer. But since the elimination of PSG in the Champions League, relations between the club and him had been strained. The coach had not intervened in the negotiations for the extension of Kylian Mbappé.
