INFO FRANCE BLEU – Ligue 2: Girondins de Bordeaux await Jonas Lössl in goal

He should be the first recruit of the Girondins de Bordeaux after the passage in front of the DNCG this Tuesday afternoon! According to information from France Bleu Gironde, Jonas Lössl is preparing to join the Marine et Blanc. The 33-year-old Danish goalkeeper, who notably worked for Guingamp a few years ago, should sign up for two years (plus an optional year) with the scapular club. His arrival (like others) is still subject to the passage of Bordeaux leaders in front of the DNCG from 3 p.m., especially if the latter takes restrictive measures against the Girondins.

A choice of David Guion

Among these restrictive measures, the club can for example be banned from recruitment. Otherwise, Jonas Lössl will be the club’s new goalkeeper for this Ligue 2 season. This choice is that of David Guion. At the end of last season, the Girondins coach had requested the recruitment of a number 1 goalkeeper with four criteria: experienced, tall, knowing Ligue 2 and speaking French. The player meets all of these requirements. He arrives from the Danish club FC Midtjylland where he was under contract until 2025. It is not known at the moment if he joins Gironde Libre or if the club will pay a small transfer fee.

For followers of the Girondins de Bordeaux, it is not unknown. Jonas Lössl indeed went through Ligue 1 between 2014 and 2016. He had two good seasons at Guingamp, including a European campaign in the first year. Since then, the Dane has wandered around a lot between Mainz, Huddersfied, Everton, Midtjylland and Brendford where he was still on loan during the second half of last season.

Chick towards the exit

If this arrival is confirmed in the next few hours, it will not be without consequences. She will push Gaëtan Poussin towards the exit because the latter does not want to be number 2 goalkeeper in Ligue 2. He was aware of this possibility. Several clubs have also been interested in him in recent weeks, such as Rodez, the future opponent of the Girondins on Saturday. Jonas Lössl’s understudy would then be Rafal Straczek, the Polish goalkeeper who arrived at the club this summer.
