Influencer Poupette Kenza, whose real name is Kenza Benchrif, was placed in provisional detention by the judge of liberties and detention, franceinfo learned on Thursday, July 11 from the Rouen prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Parisien. A decision taken in accordance with the requisitions of the Rouen prosecutor’s office.

The Rouen influencer was indicted on Sunday and imprisoned, suspected of attempted extortion by an organized gang and criminal association. Poupette Kenza is indeed suspected of having ordered from abroad an attempted extortion of funds against a couple from Rouen who had filed a complaint in February.

The courts opened an investigation on February 23, following the complaint filed by these two people for attempted extortion, “of which they had been victims the same day”. “The investigations have established that this couple, after having been subjected to various types of surveillance (physical, installation of mini-cameras near their home and GPS beacon placed on their vehicle), were physically threatened by an individual on condition of handing over a sum of 200,000 euros”confirms the Rouen public prosecutor’s office in a press release.
