Influencer Andrew Tate facing sexual assault charges in UK

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate, under house arrest in Romania in a pimping case, was formally notified on Wednesday of accusations of sexual violence by four women in the United Kingdom.

“This morning, the lawyers for the four victims delivered a letter requesting damages to him in person at his address” in the suburbs of Bucharest, wrote the firm McCue Jury&Partners in a press release posted on Twitter.

“The letter details the allegations of aggravated rape, serious physical assault and coercive behavior,” he explains, threatening Andrew Tate “with legal action in the coming weeks in London depending on his response”.

The complainants, now in their thirties, reported facts dating back to 2013-2016, when he was still living in the UK.

The former kickboxing world champion immediately denounced, via his spokesperson, anonymous accusations without evidence “of an opportunistic nature”, surfing on his media coverage.

According to the same source, three of the women had their complaints dismissed several years ago. “What new evidence has come to light since then?” “says Andrew Tate, 36 years old.

The American-British influencer and his 34-year-old brother Tristan, who claim their innocence, have been under house arrest in Romania since the end of March for another case, after three months in pre-trial detention.

The two men are suspected of having deceived “several victims including minors” for “sexual exploitation”, in particular for the production of pornographic films, according to the prosecution in charge of the fight against organized crime (DIICOT).

The charges were reclassified on Tuesday to incorporate the “continuous aspect” of human trafficking, an offense for which they risk up to ten years in prison.

Prosecutors are expected to return the case to court by the end of June, a court source said.

Andrew Tate first rose to prominence by appearing on the reality TV show Big Brotherin the United Kingdom, in 2016. But he was quickly eliminated after a video emerged showing him punching a woman.

He then turned to social media where he shows off his bulging muscles, smoking cigars, mesmerizing millions of teenagers with his luxury cars.

He promotes masculinist theses and gives advice to men to help them become rich. His name is one of the most searched on Google.

He has been suspended in the past from several social networks for misogynistic remarks. His Twitter account, now followed by nearly seven million subscribers, was restored when billionaire Elon Musk bought the social network.
