Inflation: the prices of basic necessities are still rising

Inflation continues, Thursday, July 28, to increase prices and it should continue until 2023. Basic necessities are very affected by these increases.

Prices continue to rise dramatically. The items in the basket from 20 Hours increased by 8% over one year. Crisps are experiencing a price increase of 5.14% over one year. Beers increased by 4.26%. The aperitif therefore becomes more expensive, in the middle of the summer season. However, it is butter and yoghurts with respectively 10.62% and 7.68% increase over one year that increase the most.

These price increases are noticed by consumers. “Just go to the stores, everything has increased by a euro or more for certain products”reacts a vacationer. “On a one-week shopping cart with identical things, we have about 20 euros more per week”adds a consumer. The price of steak chopped explode with an increase of 19.33%. Hygiene products are also very affected. “The basket we are following is around 8% inflation, we could reach around 10% between the start of the school year and the end of 2022”announces Emmanuel Furnaceanalytical director of NielsenIQ.
