Many consumers appreciate go to market and return home with plenty of fruit and vegetables. However, prices have risen sharply in recent months. “They increased well, it was not done with peaks but little by little, the 50 (euro) note in the wallet melted like snow in the sun”, reacts a woman shopping in Paris. Other fruit and vegetable consumers refrain from buying them in the face of the sharp rise in prices. This surge is twice as high as inflation.

Many fruits and vegetables are impacted by this sharp rise in prices. The price of watermelon has increased by 40% and that of peaches by 25%. Peppers, tomatoes and green beans all saw increases of at least 20%.
