A reduction in scale of 20% necessary
The prices of cereals, wheat or corn have fallen after having exploded because of the war in Ukraine. Chicken feed represents 65% of the price of poultry. Even if prices are falling, they are still far from their pre-crisis level. The costs “have increased so much over the past 15 to 20 months that for consumers to return to the price level they knew in 2021, we would have to have major reductions of 20%”says Emily Mayer, consumer expert at the Circana Institute.
