Inflation rate up in Canada in September, but at a slower pace than August

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 6.9% year over year in September in Canada.

That was a slight slowdown from the 7% rise seen in August, and the third month in a row that headline inflation growth has slowed.

Statistics Canada reports that lower gasoline prices were the main reason for last month’s slowdown.
