Some prices are starting to fall, but inflation remains high: more than 5% over a year in May, and more than 14% on food products.
Meeting with manufacturers in the coming days
The 75 major manufacturers refuse, for their part, to negotiate downwards. “We have a lot of negative feedback, I have a handful of companies telling me that they will start discussing“, explains Dominique SchelcherPresident of System U. According to manufacturers, their costs would continue to increase, but Bercy wants to bang his fist on the table.
