To counter the rise in prices during the holidays, home exchanges are multiplying. The barter system, quite simple, lightens the wallet and attracts more and more French people.

In the large kitchen they already feel at home. And yet, Timothée and Camille are not quite at home. They come from Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) for a six-day vacation in Montpellier (Hérault) with someone they don’t know and who left their villa with swimming pool, personal items and even their cat free of charge. Individuals exchanged their homes. The accommodations are not necessarily equivalent and the dates do not always match. The exchange system therefore works with points.

Traveling in France or abroad
