On the 13 Hours set on Friday March 25, journalist Dorothée Lachaud presents several innovative objects that could see the light of day soon.

Regularly, the journalist Dorothée Lachaud presents the products of tomorrow on the set of the 13 Hours of France 2. On Friday March 25, she highlights the winner of the 2022 Innovation prize. It is an inflatable helmet designed for cyclists. “It’s super lightweight and once deflated and folded it can even fit inside your pocket. But above all, its interest is that it protects up to four times more than a conventional helmet. The air that is under pressure inside cushions the shock, and this reduces the risk of, for example, concussion“, she explains.

The journalist also returns to the project carried out by a student from the Polytech Orléans school (Loiret): a connected biker jacket to alert the emergency services in the event of a fall. “The GPS position of the injured would be sent directly to them. And the light signals make it possible to identify the presence in the distance, it avoids having another accident“, explains Dorothée Lachaud. The project is just beginning to develop, but in the long term, the jacket plans to “transmit to the emergency services an estimate of any fractures“. The journalist also presents a jacket with an integrated airbag. Inspired by those worn by motorcyclists in competition, it is suitable for everyday users to protect them.
