“Inferiority complex”, is it already the war between Hugo Riboulet, the winner of “Top Chef” and Danny Khezzar?

With 54.90% of the vote, it was finally Hugo Riboulet who won the 14th season of “Top Chef” (M6) on Wednesday June 7, 2023. Indeed, the 24-year-old young man belonging to the “Etchebest brigade” won was able to convince the volunteers of La Croix Rouge by emphasizing a vegetable menu which made the difference compared to the dishes that Danny Khezzar, coached by Hélène Darroze, offered.

“Being among the fourteen winners, especially at 24, is crazy,” entrusted the young man to our colleagues at HuffPost following his victory in front of millions of viewers. “I worked a lot in the restaurants where I worked and there it is a bit of the accomplishment of all that”he added.

A great experience for the youngest of the competition who has already indicated that he will pay part of his 54,900 euros to Danny Khezzar. “You should know that we had made a small pact. We thought that whoever wins would give €5,000 to the loser because it’s a lot of investment to make Top Chef. And it’s so that the other doesn’t leave with nothing either,” he announces. And to add that the promise will be kept, or not. “I will give him counterfeit notes, but that should not be said (laughs)”.

“Everyone is as he is”

A beautiful gesture that testifies to a beautiful friendship between the two men. Both invited on the airwaves of South Radio this Thursday, June 8, 2023, that he was in no way jealous of his competitor’s success on social networks and in particular on Instagram where Danny Khezzar’s cooking videos have millions of views!

“He’s the star (Danny Khezzar). Me, I’m happy with what I have. It doesn’t matter if I make less buzz. Everyone is as they are. And then he has more notoriety on the networks, that’s how it is. I have no inferiority complex about that. There is no problem “ he said facing Gilles Ganzmann and Valérie Expert.
