Infection Strikes Immediately After Our First Game

Dieter König, the passionate supporter of the Bosco Bulls and founder of König Wintergärten, discovered basketball through his daughter’s insistence on attending a game in 2014. His love for the sport grew from that moment, leading to financial and emotional investment in the team. Beyond basketball, Dieter maintains an active lifestyle and runs a successful business. At 58, he is dedicated to family and community projects, including building a school in Tanzania, while cherishing his travels and hobbies.

Meet Dieter König: A Dedicated Supporter of Bosco Bulls

Dieter König, the driving force behind König Wintergärten, has been a prominent supporter of the Bosco Bulls for many years. In a recent interview, he shared how he became captivated by the basketball ‘virus’ and his journey alongside the team.

From Football to Basketball: A Newfound Passion

Dieter’s introduction to basketball was unexpected. He recalls the year 2014 when his daughter insisted on attending a league final game. With regular tickets sold out, he was convinced to purchase VIP passes for that one special game. Little did he know, this would lead to a sponsorship proposal from Bernd Stelzer that changed everything.

As for his investment in the team, Dieter dedicates both significant financial resources and time, fueled by his passion for the sport. While football was once his primary interest, the excitement of basketball quickly drew him in. “After that first game, we were already hooked!” he exclaimed.

What keeps him fascinated by basketball is its fast-paced nature. Unlike football, where moments of action can be scarce, basketball is a constant thrill. “Even if you’re ahead by fifteen points with two minutes left, anything can happen,” he said, recalling the dramatic twists he’s witnessed over the years.

Dieter attends nearly all home games at the Walfersam Hall and enjoys traveling with the team for away games whenever possible. His emotions vary with the season; he remains calm during regular play but feels the tension rise as the finals approach.

He has developed special connections with players over the years, particularly those who wear his company’s logo. Friendships with athletes like Marck Coffin and Milan Stegnjaic have enriched his experience as a fan.

A Multifaceted Life Beyond Basketball

While he may not have played team sports himself, Dieter maintains an active lifestyle, jogging three times a week and indulging in cycling during the summer. Winters find him skiing amidst the stunning mountains.

Dieter founded König Wintergärten in 2003, following a successful career in IT. His company specializes in creating summer gardens and terrace coverings, adapting to evolving customer needs over the years. With a team that fluctuates with the seasons, they handle everything from consultation to assembly, ensuring a seamless service.

In 2022, König Wintergärten moved to the Bulls Home in Kapfenberg, solidifying their partnership with the Bosco Bulls. This collaboration has proven beneficial for both the business and the team.
