Quebecer Bennedict Mathurin, who was selected sixth overall in the most recent NBA Draft, has already distinguished himself with the Indianapolis Pacers in his first preseason game on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old helped his team defeat the Hornets 122-97 in Charlotte.
Mathurin was not in the starting lineup for this game, but he still spent 19 min 18 s on the floor, amassing 15 points in the process. Only Aaron Nesmith, author of 16 points, was ahead of him in this chapter on the side of the Pacers.
The Montrealer added a rebound and an assist to his record. He hit 50% of his shots, but was unsuccessful on four attempts from downtown. He also hit his target on his five free throws.
The Pacers will play three more exhibition games before opening the regular season at home against the Washington Wizards on October 19.
