The July 14 parade took place on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. India was the guest of honor this year, marked by a historic increase in the budget of the French army.

It’s an unchanging tradition: the descent of the Champs-Elysées by the President of the Republic, to launch the July 14 parade. As he passed, a few boos were heard, before a hug with the Indian Prime Minister, guest of honor this year. The Patrouille de France then opens the parade, followed bye by four Rafale aircraft including three from theindian Air Force.

India is in the spotlight. A few Indians were happy to see their soldiers parade. “I came there to share the moments with the French, and to see my Prime Minister”, explains one of them.

Budget of 413 billion euros until 2030

In all, they are more than 5,000 to parade on the Champs-Elysées. “It is my patriotic side that forces me to come here”, underlines a local resident. Nearly 160 tanks, including Caesar guns parade. They are also used for the war in Ukraine. It’s a show of force, the following day the adoption in Parliament of a budget of 413 billion euros until 2030.
