Increase of 16 hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports six new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Monday, as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

The number of hospitalizations is now 1,254, an increase of 16 from Sunday. Of these patients, 79 are in intensive care, an increase of three.

The Ministry of Health reports 775 new cases of the disease. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 929,815 infections have been reported, and 14,091 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 103,032 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 80,408 positive. For the day on Sunday, 338 tests were declared, including 241 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 10,291 analyzes were carried out on Sunday and that the positivity rate is 8.7%.

As for vaccination, 4,900 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 52% received a third dose.
