Un part of the nuclear power plant Tricastin (Drome) decided to file a complaint against EDF. He accuses his management of having put him in the closet for having denounced the cover-up of security incidents.

He wished to maintain the strictest anonymity. Never has an executive so high up in the nuclear industry testified to denounce certain practices of his hierarchy. Safety-related incidents, and according to him deliberately concealed, at the very heart of the nuclear power plant of Tricastin (Drome) where this engineer occupies a managerial position. “I could not imagine that members of the management of a plant could avoid concepts as fundamental as respect for nuclear safety”, deplores this framework.

The most fragile example dates back to the summer of 2018. A flood occurs in one of the powerhouse’s electrical buildings. Water invades an entire room. “We must immediately and without delay inform the Nuclear Safety Authority”, he asserts. An inspection of theASN, long planned, takes place the next day. While he wishes to explain what happened, one of his superiors allegedly pressured him to in deter. “They wanted to silence me”, assures the engineer.

A month and a half later, a report downplays the incident. The EDF employee denounced other minimized incidents. Set aside, he is now on sick leave. He will file a complaint against his employer. He doesn’t know if he’ll ever get his job back. He hopes that justice will recognize him as a whistleblower.
