The controversy is revived over the incidents that took place on May 28 at the Stade de France during the Champions League final. The CCTV images were automatically deleted after seven days since they were not claimed by the courts. This new hiccup arouses political reactions.

Hundreds of hours of erased CCTV footage and renewed controversy. Thursday, June 9, in the Senate, Erwan Le Prevost, the representative of the French Football Federation, revealed that the videos filmed inside the Stade de France were not kept. “Images are available for seven days. After seven days they are automatically destroyed and the only way [de les récupérer]is that we should have had a requisition to provide them to the different populations”said Erwan Le Prevost.

220 cameras film the stadium 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “If there is a leader, and he (…) takes responsibility for this bitter failure, what is he doing there?said David Assoulinesenator (PS) from Paris, Friday June 10 on franceinfo. “It’s destruction of evidence not inaction”believes Marine Le Pen. The prosecutor or the police should have requisitioned the recordings. The prosecution requested these videos five days too late.
