The inauguration took place in the west lobby of 1, Place Ville Marie, due to weather conditions.

The work signed by landscape architect Claude Cormier was carried out at a cost of 5 million. This permanent installation must “revitalize the city center, after two years of pandemic and load shedding”, had explained to The Press Mr. Cormier in April.

President and CEO Nathalie Palladitcheff of Ivanhoé Cambridge, which owns Place Ville Marie, was delighted to make with this work “a strong gesture for the dynamism of downtown Montreal, while positioning the Esplanade as an urban meeting place worthy of the great metropolises of the world”.
