Inauguration of the Cartierville cultural and community center

The brand new Cartierville cultural and community center was inaugurated on Tuesday, in a building that previously belonged to the Sisters of Providence, in the presence of the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante.

The City bought the property in 2016 for 4.6 million, while the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville then took charge of carrying out the project, an investment of 10 million.

Heritage elements, such as stained glass windows by artist Marcelle Ferron and a chapel designed by Charles Daudelin, were preserved during the renovation.

There are 12 non-profit organizations, an ecological boutique, a community kitchen, a bistro, a thrift store, a food production garden, two early childhood centers, a neighborhood center, co-working rooms, meeting and activities.
