“In your dreams”: Marie-Pierre Arthur

It’s a film. A concert. It is above all a handful of reworked songs, imagined as in a dream where everything is sublimated. A bubble where the joy of playing in direct contact with Frank Lafontaine, Robbie Kuster, Erika Angell and Adèle Trottier-Rivard shines. It’s Marie-Pierre Arthur on the other side of a Damien Robitaille: proximity just as much, but in apnea. It’s a creation-recreation experience that we get to begin with a soundtrack, where The Web, Nothing to do, Throw down the weapons and Yes you knew exist otherwise. Liquifying soul, floating krautrock synths, impossible sounds bouncing on the surfaces of concentrated atmosphere. It’s hypnotic and dancing, strange and soft, round and good. All that amazes, amazes, dazzles at times, but it lacks… a little life. It says ” live and yet it is, everyone playing at the same time, but this ensemble playing feat is so smooth it slips through our fingers. Strongly an audience.
