There were many demonstrators in Wittelsheim (Haut-Rhin)Saturday September 23. With a peasant banquet, the demonstrators wanted to show that they could show their discontent in conviviality against the project to bury 42,000 tons of toxic waste. Nearly 300 people were present to help the collective history of Stocamine to defend this cause, like the Extinction Rébellion association.

The polluted groundwater?

“We take local fights to support them because we know that they are also out of breath”explains Tony, member of Extinction Rebellion. Minister Christophe’s statement Béchu to permanently bury the waste even forced German demonstrators to cross the border. The demonstrators fear the long-term pollution of the water table. Everyone wants to believe that their destocking is still possible.
