Tall, strong, with abs, but above all … mustache! Super Bigote, in French “Super Mustache”, has the features of Venezuelan President Nicolats Maduro. The hero embodies the savior of Venezuela who thwarts the plots hatched by the United States in the pay of the Illuminati. It is a fiction.
In the cartoon, the super-villain sits in the oval office of a white house with an American flag prominently visible. He is round, very blond … the Washington post noted a resemblance to Donald Trump. The super-villain presses a red button and launches a drone that attacks Venezuela’s power grid, plunging the country into darkness. Disaster: a woman calls for help, a patient wakes up in the middle of an operation and is in great pain.

All this makes a lot of laughs. Two other characters, deliberately ridiculous, are dressed as chickens. Again, the Washington post found a resemblance to the political opponents of Nicolás Maduro. And if life was a cartoon, luckily for Venezuelans, Super Mustache is here! Super Mustache forms a team, destroys the drone with his iron hands and restores the electricity. If life were a cartoon, Venezuela would be saved. The propaganda exercise is total. A sociologist, cited in the Washington post, claims that cartoons are often used by “authoritarian regimes”.
As for the scenario, the reference is obvious: in 2019, Venezuela was affected by a gigantic blackout. The government of Nicolás Maduro then spoke of “sabotage” orchestrated by the United States. In real life, Super Mustache has some work to do. Hyper inflation, shortages, political and humanitarian crisis, growing poverty and human rights abuses. Violations denounced again recently by the NGO Provea, the Venezuelan Program of Education and Action on Human Rights. The power rejects these accusations.
Let us not forget the exodus of 5 million Venezuelans since 2015 according to the UN, the “irregularities” (but also the “improvements”) noted in November by the European Union Election Observation Mission following the regional elections won overwhelmingly by Nicol’s partyats Maduro. The latter qualified the observers “enemies” and “pawns”.
Nicolats Maduro, without a cape or tights, but with a mustache, is still on a crusade to lift economic sanctions, particularly from the United States. Life is not a cartoon, but this might be an idea for a scenario for a future episode of Super Mustache!
