The heat settles on all the country, Tuesday, June 14. In some apartments, the temperatures can be unbearable. Indeed, thermal colanders that do not keep the heat in do not keep the freshness either.

In great heat, Anne-Flore Gaspard lives a nightmare when she goes up to her son’s room, in her house located in Mérignac (Gironde). The temperature is as stifling inside as it is outside. “All blinds closed since this morning, after airing, knowing that at 8 a.m. it was already over 20 degrees (…), it’s already a little over 30 degrees”, laments Anne-Flore Gaspard. His 1940s house is very poorly insulated. Her little boy must therefore sleep in the living room.

Five to seven million homes in France are considered thermal sieves. The latter are coolers in winter, and ovens in summer. Hence the interest of energy renovation programs. Launched to save heating, they promise comfort in summer. Some buildings are, for example, insulated with rock wool. However, polystyrene, mcheaper by about 20%, is often preferred by individuals.
