Spared since the beginning of the war, Lviv has been the victim of Russian air strikes. Seven people have died and around fifty have been injured.

Located nearly 70 km from the Polish border, the city of Lviv (Ukraine) woke up in terror. On the night of Tuesday 3 to Wednesday 4 September, Russian airstrikes blew out windows of buildings and destroyed the historic district. The extent of the damage is considerable in this city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to the authorities, seven people lost their lives and around fifty were injured.

Residents of Lviv, who have so far been spared from the clashes, are stunned by the extent of the damage. “A car exploded, it hit our house and the neighbors’ house. There’s nothing left, no more windows.”a young woman testifies. This attack comes the day after a heavy strike which left more than 50 dead in the city of Poltava, 900 km away.
