This Friday, May 19 is presented in preview at Cannes, Flo, a film retracing the life of the navigator who tragically disappeared in a helicopter accident eight years ago.

In Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), meet the Flo film crew on the sailboat with which Florence Arthaud won the Route du Rhum. It is also the boat that was used for the film. For the actress, Stéphane Caillard, it was a challenge to embody the little bride of the Atlantic. “I basically knew the icon she was and became after the Route du Rhum, I was a little small to see her arrival. She is a very dense character, a woman in all her complexity and therefore in all her beauty”she says.

A strong and free woman

Florence Arthaud, free woman and exceptional sailor. Eight years after her disappearance, the French have not forgotten her. “The courage of this woman. The pugnacity she may have had”, said a woman. The film Flo retraces the career of the woman who lived at 100 miles an hour, with decisive encounters, such as Olivier de Kersauson. Filming ended six months ago in Brittany, but the sailor’s family did not like the project. His daughter attempted legal action to have a say in the script, to no avail. The release is scheduled for next November.
