The United States is preparing to vote in less than a month and the campaign sometimes resembles a culture war. Some high schools are getting rid of books that focus on sexual orientation, for example.
Florida (United States) is a cultural battleground where progressive visions on one side and ultra-conservative visions on the other collide. Citizens are sometimes at odds and engaged in a book war. For a long time, New College University was one of the most left-leaning universities in Florida. But a few weeks ago, when students passed through the library, they noticed hundreds of books placed in boxes or on the sidewalk.
The books are mostly taken away by a dumpster, taken to a recycling center to be destroyed. Works that belonged to a student association promoting diversity. On the internet, one of the faculty administrators posted an unequivocal message. Students still saved dozens of books which found a place in a community center.
