In Germany, electrical sensors to prevent forest fires
Germany has found an ingenious system to fight forest fires. Electric sensors were placed on trees. Their precise sense of smell allows them to detect the slightest smoke, and therefore to warn in the event of a fire starting. “Their advantage is very early detection. Within minutes, you can spot a small fire on the ground and put it out quickly“, explains Jurgen Muller, inventor of the system.
