The US Congress did not vote on the $60 billion aid plan for Ukraine. As for the European plan of 50 billion euros, it was not adopted. In the trenches, the morale of the Ukrainian soldiers is at its lowest, because there is a shortage of ammunition.
In a trench in the Donbass region (Ukraine), Ukrainian soldiers must limit their operations. Their mortar shell fire towards Russian positions is counted. “These are the last of the delivery we received two days ago. At the moment, we are being delivered around ten per day, around twenty at most. Last year at the same time, we had three or four times more”confides Olexdandr, head of unit of the Israeli army.
Harassment operations
In the trenches, time seems even longer for these men, on this Eastern Front since the first days of the war. Ukraine is forced to reduce its ambitions. To hold out, it must be content with harassment operations, and renounce any attack. A war of position to which the soldiers adapt despite themselves. While the United States and Europe are questioning the continuation of their support, the blow is hard to absorb.
