In the Somme, the success of the solidarity clip “Ukraine we love you” recorded by college students

Eight months ago, a hundred students, from 6^e at the 3^efrom the Val de Somme college recorded Ukraine we love you. Several solidarity actions in favor of the Ukrainian people, such as collections of school materials, had already been carried out in the establishment. Alain Le Tribroche, college music teacher and songwriter, had the idea of ​​creating a song that he offers to the students of the choir. “They were very surprised at first. Finally, they played the game. We started to sing it in class”, says Alain Le Tribroche.

Faced with such enthusiasm, a clip of nearly four minutes is made with the help of Kuzcko Feat, producer and DJ of techno music. The objective is to make this song known beyond the borders of the college. In black and white, with images that alternate scenes of rehearsals and war in Ukraine, the clip was posted on June 21, 2022. With 272,000 views today, the bet to reach a wider audience has been successful.

“My anger growls, people fall under the bullets of soldiers”, sing the college students. The text is poignant. And as long as the war in Ukraine rages, the college intends to keep this song alive. The choir, partly renewed after departures and arrivals of students, still sings it. “Even if it’s just music, it allows us to think of them, to give them all our support during this difficult time”, testifies a schoolgirl. “If they listen to us, maybe it will bring them comfort,” adds another student.

In music lessons, she is also still successful. “It’s become a bit of an anthem at school. Some classes still ask me if we can sing “Ukraine we love you””, rejoices Alain Le Tribroche. After the clip, it’s now time for the concerts. Two dates are scheduled for next June at the Ailly-sur-Somme gymnasium.
