“In the night”, Martine Latulippe

What happened to the teenager found dead along the Main road in the (fictitious) town of Firmont? Léo, aged 15, is unable to get this event which happened just a stone’s throw from his home out of his head. Throughout the messages he composes for a dear friend who recently moved outside the municipality, he reveals details about the affair, which he learns in dribs and drabs in the media. Shaken, he simultaneously conducts his own investigation with those around him. During his lunch hour at school, however, he would like to have his accomplice at his side to discuss the information revealed. Martine Latulippe, who has more than a hundred novels to her credit, delivers a novel that is both captivating and sensitive about the loneliness felt by certain high school students. The author also addresses the difficulty teenagers experience in expressing their emotions and communicating with those close to them at this pivotal period in their lives.
