It was a measure demanded by the government. TotalEnergies intends to apply a discount at the pump of 20 cents per liter between September and November in all its service stations, then at 10 cents per liter for the rest of the year, the group announced on Friday July 22 in a press release.
The measurement was immediately “greeted” by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire on BFTMV, who specified that this rebate would concern all of the group’s service stations. In the midst of a debate on the superprofits tax, the Minister of the Economy had asked the oil group to make a new “effort”. TotalEnergies had already announced a discount of 12 cents in the group’s stations located on the motorway this summer.
This rebate is in addition to the aid of 18 centimes per liter granted by the government to deal with soaring fuel prices. Aid should increase to 12 cents in October and then to 6 cents in November, before disappearing the following month.
