“In the End,” Eve Parker Finley

Montrealer Eve Parker Finley, also known as a comedian and creator of multimedia content, presents a fantastic new album. First of all, In the End stands out for its quiet audacity: we appreciate songs that can sometimes evoke the kitsch and delicious music of Alex Cameron (and Roy Molloy for specialists), we think here particularly of the piece In the Endas much as more electronic tracks (Fall Into Me) or folk magic (Beautiful Fool). In any case, let’s salute the talent of the musician both on vocals and on keyboards, strings and saxophone. Let us also salute his ability to surround himself well, since this disc features his long-time collaborators – who bring with them their sweet worlds – the brilliant Nick Schofield, Cedric Noel and Emilie Kahn. Finally, we really like the way Eve Parker Finley plays with the sound of words and their meaning as well as their contradictions.
