In some French territories, it can be very complicated to find a doctor or dentist. These territories are called medical deserts. In the Côtes d’Armor, some municipal mayors feel helpless and are increasing their calls for help.

A brand new health center, employed doctors and yet Alain Garzuel cannot attract new doctors. In 10 years, his town has lost four general practitioners. There are only three left for a population of 6,000 inhabitants: “I go to Paris for the dentist, the ophthalmologist and the dermatologist”says a resident of the town. Today, the mayor feels powerless in the face of the crisis affecting his territory. So he decided to mobilize. Just like him, 54 mayors of Côtes d’Armor signed decrees last June. They are asking the State for an emergency plan for access to care.

In Plouëc-du-Trieux (Côtes d’Armor), there is no longer a doctor. A situation which handicaps the inhabitants of the city. To continue to be heard, the mayor of the town encourages them to share their experience in this list of grievances.
