Respecting nature can be learned from an early age. To make children aware of environmental issues, the Gardanne ecomuseum (Bouches-du-Rhône) offers discovery workshops. A good way to learn while having fun.

Respecting nature is one of the first lessons of this week of discovery. For four days, these children participate in activities around the environment, organized by the eco-museum of the Gardanne forest (Bouches-du-Rhône) for the holidays. On the program: making autumn herbaria in the heart of the forest. “Children are introduced to the nature that surrounds them. With various themes: yesterday the grasshoppers, today, the autumn leaves”, explains the host.

To best educate children, the ecomuseum focuses on leisure. “We try to make it something fun and quite educational”, details Marine Julien, animator at the forest ecomuseum. “In the morning there is a theoretical part and in the afternoon, we spend on manual activities”. Children can take their herbarium home. A souvenir to encourage them to continue to take an interest in the environment.
