In the absence of a visa, a kitty for a young Haitian

She had gone so far as to contact the President of the Republic, but today the mayor of Liesville-sur-Douve has lost hope of bringing to France a Haitian student for whom she has taken up the cause for 1 year.

The young woman is unable to obtain a visa to come to France. And for the time being, all the steps taken by the elected Manchoise Sonia Ladune, have remained in vain. Last symbol of the failure of this mobilization in favor of Shylone, 26 years old: the cancellation of the hearing of the administrative court this Monday, July 4. The body had to examine the appeal formulated following the refusal to grant a student visa to the young woman.

The sincerity of the approach questioned

It all started last summer. The young Haitian wants to continue in France, her law studies started in her native country. She obtains a place in notarial BTS at the Tocqueville high school in Cherbourg. His search for accommodation led him to contact Sonia Ladune, the mayor of Liesville-sur-Douve. Everything is ready for his arrival but now, the visa application does not follow. The embassy questions the sincerity of Shylone’s approach and intentions in coming to France. Since then, the letters sent to the top of the State have changed nothing and the attempt to obtain a work visa this time, met with the same refusal from the authorities. A permanent position as a waitress had however been found for the young woman in Sainte-Mère-Eglise.

Today, Sonia Ladune no longer believes in a favorable outcome and failing to bring Shylone to France, she launched a kitty on the internet, to raise funds to help the young woman continue her studies and build his life in Haiti.
