in “Telematin”, his cousin calls out to him and asks him… “a few places to pass on to us”!

Wednesday, May 10, Beyoncé launched in Stockholm (Sweden) the kickoff of her tour entitled Renaissance World Tour. A three-hour show with breathtaking scenography that will cross Europe and North America!

Among the 57 dates scheduled between May and September 2023, the American star will stop in France on May 26, then in Marseille on June 11. Sunday May 14, it is in Brussels at the King Baudouin stadium that she is expected by tens of thousands of fans.

An event that a distant cousin of hers, living not far from there, would like to attend!

Beyoncé from Belgium?

In effect, Telematin broadcast a topic around Albert de Cuir. “Albert de Cuir is the ancestor of the seventh generation of Beyoncé”explained a historian in a subject broadcast by the morning program of France 2. “He is a character who emigrated to Louisiana in 1720 with a whole group of people from the surrounding area”. The man in question was “a rich slave owner who had thousands of descendants including the interpreter of Sweet Dreams”.

The opportunity for historians to find one of his cousins, in Wallonia, Willy de Cuir. “I’m proud of my cousin”he slipped with humor seeing the images of the performances on stage of the Texan. “It’s really comical because ultimately how can you imagine for a quarter of a second when you live here in the province of Hainaut in Belgium that you have an eighth generation cousin who has had such success in America (or rather in the world, editor’s note)?” Admiring his talent, the latter has this message to him in front of the camera: “The cousin, if she has a few places to pass on to us, the children are ready”.

Not sure that Jay-Z’s wife will receive this message and grant this request but it was worth a try!
