in Tarbes, the Pyrenees National Park, is looking for 5 candidates for Civic Service

Public establishment at the service of the environment and its territory, in the Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Pyrenees National Park, carries out missions of knowledge and preservation of natural, cultural and landscape heritage. Its role is also to welcome all audiences and support local communities in sustainable development. Finally, Its purpose is to inform and advise visitors, and driving with the general public and schools and colleges in the Pyrenees National Park, environmental education initiatives. As such, the Pyrenees National Park is looking for candidates to Civic Service.

In the Pyrénées Atlantiques (64), in Béarn, two positions are to be filled. 1 post in the Aspe Valley, in Bedous and a post in the Ossau Valley in Laruns. In the Hautes-Pyrénées (65) three positions are to be filled. 1 post in Cauterets, 1 post for the Luz-Gavarnie sector, based in Luz-Saint-Sauveur, 1 post for the Aure sector, based in Saint-Lary-Soulan.

Missions :

  • Present the Pyrenees National Park to the general public
  • Setting up meeting points and welcoming groups
  • Animation in the National Park Houses and in the field
  • Interventions on social networks
  • Discover nature
  • Raising awareness of regulations

Enhancement of the natural space:

  • Setting up a meeting point on major sites
  • Cauterets
  • World Heritage Gavarnie
  • Néouvielle National Nature Reserve, etc…

Profile and skills:

  • Be between 16 and 25 years old
  • With or without a diploma
  • With or without experience

Skills and know-how:

  • Ability to work in a team and demonstrate initiative
  • Sense of contact, good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to move in the mountains
  • Pedagogue

Work conditions :

  • 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday
  • 8-month contract starting March 1, 2022

Compensation and Benefits:

  • €780.62 monthly allowance
  • Travel costs and mountain equipment
  • Access to the training courses of the Pyrenees National Park and the Ministry of Ecology

Mandatory training

During his mission, the volunteer benefits from the PSC1 certifying training to acquire first aid gestures and civic and civic training (content and format vary according to the host organization: conference, debate, etc.). These two training courses are set up by the host organization and carried out during the period of engagement in Civic Service.
