Say goodbye to the Odyssey, and hello to the Cosmos! The association The Third Breath proudly unveiled the name of new city film project, in the presence of the mayor of Strasbourg, Jeanne Barseghian. “We chose this name because it says a lot about the philosophy of the projectexplains Till Zimmerman, president of the association. In the cosmos, everything is in motion, everything evolves in harmony, and everyone is included“.
Make cinema participatory
Inclusiveness is the key word of the project. The work also provides for the creation of participatory spaces, such as a studio workshop for school studentsor even a media lab to create podcasts or radio programs around the films offered by the cinema. “We want to give the floor to the public, to build a relationship with the spectators”says Etienne Hunsinger, future director of cinema operations.
Reflect on social issues
A programming council will decide on the films to be shown, involving spectators, cinephiles, or academics in the debate. Films will be organized into two categories: cinematic art and social issues. “We can do film cycles on the theme of water, or LGBTQ+ issues. The goal is to reason about what is happening in the worlddescribes Alice Bourcereau, member of the Third Breath.
The work should be completed by the end of the year. They plan to bring people with disabilities up to standard, and refresh the hall and the bar, which will be called the “Bardu”. The work does not concern the famous historic room with golden moldingswhich will keep all its charm.
