Being a fashion victim while being green is now possible. The Franco-Swedish company “Hack your closet” is developing its shared wardrobe concept in France. Its objective: to avoid overconsumption of clothing. #TheyHaveTheSolution

This is a first in France: the concept of the shared wardrobe is set up in Strasbourg with the company Hack your closet. After its debut in Sweden, this young start-up is determined to tackle the French market. The objective of Hack your closet is simple: to offer an ecological alternative to textile overconsumption. The company sets up a monthly subscription of 29 euros, thanks to which customers receive a “box” made up of several clothes.

After four weeks, subscribers send the parts back to the company free of charge to be cleaned and repaired if necessary. In case of crush, it is possible to keep them longer, paying three euros per month.

Inside the “box” sent by the company, buyers receive between five and six garments. All personalized by a stylist, according to their preferences. The clothes offered by Hack your closet come from the second-hand market and surpluses from partner brands.

In exchange, Hack your closet provides subscriber data to its suppliers. For example, the number of times a garment has been worn. With nearly 50,000 garments in constant rotation, the company wants to prove that it is possible to be fashionable without spending money on new. Faced with strong demand, the company plans to open around fifty additional positions.
