The seventh wave of Covid-19 is spreading in France, as well as in most European countries. Nearly 100,000 new contaminations are recorded on average every day. The seaside resorts, too, are preparing.

The first tourists of July have arrived on the beach of Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), happy to enjoy pleasant temperatures. But some vacationers decided to leave before the rush. Like these tourists, frightened by the rise in Covid-19 contamination: “It was a problem for us in supermarkets, in stores, restaurants. It’s a fear.”

In a campsite in Antibes, the Julyists are expected at the end of the afternoon, Saturday July 2, and the director checks the smallest details, always with the Covid in mind. “We simply did not remove the measures that had been taken in 2020“, says Claire Cohen, director of the Pylon campsite. A pharmacy in Montpellier (Hérault) notes that regulars and tourists are rather far-sighted. Screening tests are free for all those who have a complete vaccination schedule.
