In search of French toast

Bread: an ingredient in the kitchen

Bread is one of the favorite products of the French. We love it at any time of the day. But when your eyes are bigger than your stomach and when there is bread left in the basket, it ends up getting stale! So what to do?

The first, and bad option would be to throw it in the trash. The second, and a good option, is to tell yourself that now that we have stale bread, we will take the opportunity to cook it differently, and test lots of recipes!

This is what we offer you in this program with Jacques Goyeux, chef of the restaurant L’Éveil in Cormontreuil. We also took the opportunity to call Sébastien Chazée, the boss of La p’tite boulangerie in Taissy, he is the one who supplies the restaurant every day.

A gourmet restaurant within an association

The Awakening Association hosts an IME (medico-educational institute), the Awakening Workshops (ESAT) and a Day Care Center. She invests herself on a daily basis in order to enable people with intellectual disabilities to reveal their potential and use all their skills.

And at the heart of this structure is a gourmet restaurant open to all. We do refined cuisine, served according to the rules of the art, with that little extra thing: unparalleled pleasure and enthusiasm on the part of the staff.

The restaurant can be reached on 03.51.56.70.01 or [email protected]
