The subject of the blaze of the prices of the real estate invites itself in the presidential campaign. In Saint-Malo, elected officials have decided to reserve low-cost housing for purchase for low-income residents. I’operation was a resounding success.
Living a few meters from the beach is an often inaccessible dream. However, in a popular district of Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine)former low-income tenants will be able to become owners. In this new residence located in an area where prices are soaring, around thirty apartments with two to five rooms have been sold for between 210,000 and 225,000 euros. Discounted prices obtained thanks to the “Bail Réel Solidaire” program.
Thanks to this system, future buyers only buy the walls. The land, which belongs to a solidarity land office, is rented to them for one euro per month per square meter. The city can thus retain its young workers. Another objective: fight against speculation. During resale, the capital gain will thus be very limited. The program will expand: 350 new accommodations of this type are planned on the Emerald Coast.
