A few days before the liberation of the capital on August 25, 1944, Allied troops landed in Provence and accumulated decisive successes until the Nazi capitulation. In the Alpes-Maritimes, a village commemorates its liberation.

With period costumes and vehicles, the inhabitants of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne (Alpes-Maritimes) commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of their village. On August 23, 1944, eight days after the landing in Provence, Canadian special forces, American paratroopers and resistance fighters drove the Germans out of the village. The reproduction attempts to be faithful to history.

After the parade, children are invited to play liberators. On August 23, 1944, Jacques Bellettini and Raymond Bonhomme were 3 and 8 years old. They remember the feeling of relief. 80 years later, the inhabitants dance, swing and twist like their elders. The commemorations continue in the liberated villages in the footsteps of the Allied forces until September 3, the date of the liberation of Monaco.
