A new street arts festival has emerged in Saint-Brieuc. Until June 25, fifteen French and international street artists are at work on the walls of the city. On the program of this first Shake Art Festival: photo exhibition, meetings and concerts.

The Costa Rican capital is hosting a brand new event dedicated to urban cultures and bringing together various disciplines ranging from art, music, dance, but also photography and skateboarding. A new meeting that bridges the gap between these different worlds.
2000 spray cans
For its first edition, the Shake Art Festival has invited around fifteen renowned French and foreign graffiti artists, who produce their monumental works live on the facades of buildings and buildings. 1800 m2 of frescoes in total will remain in place after the end of the festival. Among these artists, the Parisian graffiti artist Horor signs a huge colorful cormorant, he who usually likes black and white.
“Seeing walls that are a bit gray and sad, you always want to leave your mark, to express yourself. Today we are lucky to be able to invest large supports in the heart of places where people live (…) Here I said to myself that the cormorant was rather well placed, and that it brings a little gaiety, light and life, in sometimes sad places to live“, says the artist.
Dee Nasty on stage
On the program of the Shake Art Festival, BMX, rollerblading, skateboarding and street basketball for the more athletic, but also a recovery on two walls of the district of Europe, the exhibition The Spirit of Rock by photographer Philippe Hamon, presented in Paris in 2018. On the music side, several concerts and DJ sets are scheduled. Among them a legend of hip hop in France: Dee Nasty who will be on stage this Saturday evening from 11:30 p.m. Before him, DJ Blaize, DJ Celar, Deadi and Swift Guad will perform.
The Shake Art Festival will end on Sunday in Saint-Brieuc, but will play extensions on the coast, in Binic, from July 20 to 23 with Karavan’ Shake Art Binic. Three artists will then cover with their works more than 400 m2 of facades of the seaside resort, the Touraine artist Madame, the Brestois Wen2 and the Belgian Spear. Three days of live painting with there too meetings, initiation workshops and concerts.
