In Roure, an inn loses a large part of its customers because of works which prevent access to it

In Roure, a small town of around 150 inhabitants located just above Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée, the Auberge Lo Robur finds itself deprived of a large part of its clientele.

Since the beginning of May, work has been underway on the departmental road 130 which connects Roure to the rest of the Tinée valley. This construction site causes the road to be closed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. “Customers can’t come and eat lunch in half an hour, it’s not possible”protests Déborah Georges, the chef of the inn.

But that’s not all. The Lo Robour hostel finds itself deprived of one of its employees. A kitchen clerk lives in Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée and can no longer come to work on weekdays because the opening hours of the road do not correspond to the schedule of this inn.

After two years of hardship, -between storm Alex, covid crisis and winter season without snow -, Déborah Georges wonders when she will be able to get her head above water : “We are forced to work right on the period when we can work. We stay in Roure, our clientele is very seasonal. We have not organized ourselves to work only on Saturdays and Sundays”.

Contacted, the mayor of Roure, Jean-Claude Linck, wishes to recall that “the municipality is well aware of the inconvenience caused to the population by this construction site. Inconvenience which it has sought to reduce as much as possible during the prior organization of the construction site, the implementation of the schedule and timetables”.

This work was still to last until June 24, but a two-week delay has already been mentioned.
