In Rouen, young “actors” to fight against radicalism

A play about exclusion. How to fight against radicalism? Whether sexual, religious or dietary? Twenty young people from the Rouen conurbation have been considering the issue for several weeks. With the City of Rouen, they present their work this Friday at the André Malraux center at 7 p.m.

Fight against radicalism

These young people were accompanied by a theater company, one train can hide another. “The purpose of this piece is to talk about discrimination, isolation and an increase in radicalization of a character and how we will be able to fix this.“, explains Lydie Gaborit, artistic director of the company.

Why should we be oppressed because of a difference?“, asks Adelie, a 17-year-old who participates in this play. “Before, I had a very negative opinion of those who radicalize because I thought it was really a choice. Sometimes it’s not, it’s an indoctrination (…) and little by little it can destroy a person“, analyzes the young high school student.

For his part, Adam has worked on a short film that addresses the subject of veganism. “The passage between two ideas is very fine. It doesn’t take much to go into radicalism. Everyone can drift. These are recurring things. I have a different point of view”, he explains.

Like him, these young people present their work this evening at 7 p.m. at the André Malraux center in Rouen. Free entry.
